ANOTHER SIDE DOCUMENTARY LAB

Another Side Documentary Lab is a mentorship and professional development initiative supporting emerging documentary storytellers interested in cross-cultural and globally engaged narratives.

The lab brings together creators working across documentary, journalism, photography and visual storytelling to develop projects exploring identity, culture, belonging and social change.

Through workshops, mentorship sessions and collaborative development opportunities, participants are supported in refining their storytelling approach, strengthening creative confidence and building sustainable creative practices. The lab looks to be a safe, empowering and transformative for all of its artists, guests and those impacted by its work and creations.​

The initiative places particular emphasis on accessibility, collaboration and supporting emerging creators from underrepresented communities. We believe in the power of representation and in a world where marginalized people are often only shown as victims, the lab lets them become experts, elevated and the writers and editors of their own stories.
